Introduction

Pick your path and your pace at the Great Race of Agoura Hills—voted L.A.’s Best Running Race FIVE years in a row. The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation invites you to come join us on March 28th, 2009 as we run and/or walk for a cure in Agoura Hills located just outside of sunny Los Angeles. There are many distances and no age limit so all ages and disciplines are welcome to come out and join us.

5 races will happen on March 28th—they begin at different times, take different paths, but we all end up at the same place!

Sign up for one of the following:

  • Pacific Half Marathon--This unbelievably scenic road race takes you through the many historic sections of old Hollywood.
  • Old Agoura—This top-rated 10km race by Runners World is considered one of the most beautiful road races in all of California!
  • Deena Kastor-- This 5km race is classic for any runner to enjoy.
  • Kids 1 Mile-- For kids ages 6-12, this is one of the largest kids’ run in California.
  • Family Fun Run/Walk 1 Mile-- Celebrate being alive and being active by getting out and hitting the road!
Team CFCF will celebrate together at the end at a post-race party—look for the banner, the booth, and the food! The Agoura Hills post-race party has been voted #1 six years in a row!

Learn! March 29th, 2009

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) will hold a patient education conference in Los Angeles. CFCF welcomes experts in carcinoid cancer, pancreatic endocrine cancer, expert liver surgeons, nutritionists, psychiatrists, and pain specialists. CFCF is excited because this conference will be an interactive event.

Morning session:

Each speaker will lecture for 20 minutes and then participate in a panel moderated by Nancy O’Hagan. Nancy will ask the doctors questions submitted by patients who attend the conference. Patients will submit questions in advance. Questions will be answered in the order in which CFCF receives them. If you plan to attend, e-mail us now: info@caringforcarcinoid.org.

Afternoon session:

CFCF will hold small groups to discuss personal topics—including cancer and parenting; having cancer as a young adult; cancer and recipe sharing.

Dance! March 28th, 2009

Join CFCF at its first Gala! We are delighted to dance under the stars with the stars! Dance for the joy of surviving, for your fellow patients, and in memory of your loved ones. For the Gala come to Beverly Hills and enjoy live music, food, dancing and fun auctions!
