2010 Request for Proposal
Caring for Carcinoid Foundation - American Association for Cancer Research Grants for Carcinoid Tumor and Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Research
The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is pleased to announce a new and exciting grant opportunity made possible by collaboration with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
Two grants-each totaling $250,000 over the span of 2 years-will be awarded to junior and senior investigators pursuing innovative ideas and approaches that have a direct application and relevance to carcinoid cancer and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Special emphasis will be placed on research projects that differ from projects currently funded by CFCF.
Through this joint effort, CFCF and AACR seek to increase the understanding of neuroendocrine tumor biology, elucidate the mechanisms of currently available therapies, and identify new treatment targets for carcinoid and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
Proposals will be accepted through September 15, 2010, with the decision date on January 15, 2011. For further details please visit the official request for proposals on the AACR website.
Mentored researchers working in this field should consider applying for the Raymond and Beverly Sackler AACR Fellowships for Ileal Carcinoid Tumor Research.
