How I survive cancer:
Hope and faith.....
My tumor was discovered when I had a cholecystectomy. I was having gallbladder problems. The pathologist found the small carcinoid tumor, upon checking the gallbladder. It was not known then but the tumor was just starting out. It was very small size.
I needed exploratory surgery two months later to take specimens of my pancreas, liver, common bile duct and appendix to find the origin. I was lucky, all my frozen sections came back negative for carcinoid. My doctors told me it was a rare type of cancer, that I'm too young. I was only 25 at the time.
I get checkups every three months, and till this day no more tumors have been seen.
I stay positive and live life to the fullest. I have a husband and three little girls that I live for....
