Carcinoid

How I survive cancer:

I went in to see my Gyno for my annual exam. It had been three years since my last one. My right side was very tender when she did a vaginal ultrasound. She did an abdominal ultrasound and there was a huge cyst, full of fluid. I went in two days later to have that removed. That surgery went well, my dr. told me she removed my appendix because it looked funny. I recovered and went home, that's when I received the call. My appendix came back positive with a 5.5cm tumor!! I had to go straight to the hospital to have a right hemicolectomy, lymph nodes removed. So far I am clean.

How I fight for a cure:

I talk about this type of cancer educating myself and others. Age does not matter. I also walked and raised money for the Relay for Life.

My caring words of encouragement:

I love the trees, the leaves, the water, the sky. I love everything. This is what I said standing at the hospital window. I love life.
